Lots of folks are talking about the fact that comedian and UNC alum, Lewis Black has bought one of the two bedroom units at the Condominiums at McCorkle Place, 213 East Franklin Street. Some wonder if we are turning the corner towards trendiness.  Will we become a “cool” place to live now?
Many of us think we already are!  The growth in downtown condos and townhomes just gives us another option for home buyers looking for their slice of the “Southern Part of Heaven.” There are some wonderful properties downtown now, just a walk to Franklin Street, Memorial Hall and the soon to be built Arts Common on the UNC campus. Many are ready for occupancy now and still more on the drawing board.Â
Perhaps you are interested in a condo as a home, an investment or a part-time residence? Call Reg Morgan, a Chapel Hill realtor with over 20 years of experience.
Take a look at some of the current Chapel Hill MLS listings now.

One of the best neighborhoods in Chapel Hill is Meadowmont Village.   Meadowmont real estate options include a variety of town homes, condos, craftsmen style bungalows and luxury properties.   All are located close to the new Chapel Hill School, Rashkis Elementary.
And for shopping and recreation, it can’t be beat. We love the UNC Wellness Center for a good workout or an indoor swim. And in this heat we cool off at the Meadowmont Club — where our oldest son is learning to swim this Summer!  Great lifeguards and very patient swim teachers!   After a swim we indulge ourselves at Lickety Split for some ice cream.  Â
As a Chapel Hill Realtor with over 20 years of experience, I know all the neighborhoods of Chapel Hill. Contact me for a tour!

One of our favorite Chapel Hill real estate neighborhoods is Southern Village.   This is a great neighborhood, especially for anyone who likes to walk to shops, restaurants, or the swim and tennis club.   Southern Village Real Estate has a mix of luxury homes and town homes. Â
The Farmers Market sets up on Market Street every Thursday afternoon.  Throughout the Summer there are outdoor movies and concerts on the green – including a special concert by the NC Symphony on June 1st.  Â
One of my clients bought a town home in Southern Village and loves the mix of families and single neighbors. She’s lived in so many places: California, Oregon, Maryland- but this one is the best for that sense of southern hospitality.     Southern Village was my first suggestion for her - beautiful homes, close to movies and restaurants.    Call or email me to find the perfect home in Chapel Hill!
