Chapel Hill Real Estate Values

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

There was an interesting bit of news recently on home values in Chapel Hill.   The price of new homes sold in Orange County late last year jumped nearly $100,000 compared to median prices for the last quarter of 2005.

In the fourth quarter of 2006, the median value of new construction homes closing here was $422,000 compared to the 2005 numbers which were $330,000.  These numbers highlight the booming luxury home market in Chapel Hill.  Neighborhoods like Silver Creek, Chesley, Meadowmont and Lake Hogan Farms have beautiful new executive residences filled with amenities.

Chapel Hill School Principal gets top honor

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Chapel Hill residents are justifiably proud of their school district, as it routinely ranks as the top school district in North Carolina.  Rashkis Elementary is a great school in the Meadowmont neighborhood of Chapel Hill.  Recently the school’s principal, Deshera Mack, was honored by school administrators as the district’s Principal of the Year.

This is the third time she has been honored.   Earlier, she won this award when she was at Seawell Elementary in 1996 and 2000.

The Chapel Hill Carrboro school district has outstanding teachers and administrators.  It is one of the many reasons why families love to live in Chapel Hill.  If you are thinking of a move to Chapel Hill, call Reg Morgan, your Chapel Hill realtor with over 20 years of experience.

Let’s talk about the many neighborhoods that make up Chapel Hill.   Meadowmont is just one special part of our town.   I’d love to show you other great neighborhoods with extraordinary homes - Southern Village, Lake Hogan Farms, Silver Creek and The Oaks are just some that come to mind.

Relocating to Chapel Hill

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

Since my wife Laura and I moved to Chapel Hill, many friends from our previous homes in New York and Connecticut contact us about making the move as well.   Relocating to Chapel Hill was the best thing we ever did.    The quality of life here in the Triangle is amongst the best in the nation.  The schools, recreation and of course, that Carolina Blue weather — what a great place to raise our kids.    If you are thinking of a move, call me.  As a certified relocation specialist, I know how important it is to do this right.  It’s not too soon to begin the process - even if your move is months, or even years away.

Our good friends, Donna and Mike came down to look around last Summer.  They loved the spacious homes in Lake Hogan Farms, Governors Club and Silver Creek.    If you are relocating, you will be amazed at the fantastic luxury home market here in Chapel Hill.  Â
