Carolina Football - Good for Chapel Hill Real Estate?

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

This might be a reach, but I think the Tar Heels success on the football field is going to translate into an upswing for our local real estate market.  Yes, it is slow right now, but think about it, if Butch Davis and his crew can possibly win their division, then our market can bounce back!  Call Reg Morgan, your Chapel Hill realtor for more information on our market.  We have been surprisingly resilient given the national news, but still not up to our usual strength.

Go Heels, look for a big win against Maryland this weekend in College Park and don’t forget to cheer them on at Kenan Stadium against State on November 22nd, kick off is at noon.

Carolina vs. Notre Dame: Game Time Set

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Well, this is about the best thing we can say about today - they set the game time for the Carolina - Notre Dame football game.  Kick off will be at 3:30pm at Kenan Stadium on Saturday, October 11th.

I can’t imagine where the market will be then, but I know that Chapel Hill will weather the storm.   If you have questions about your place in these tumultuous times, call Reg Morgan - your Chapel Hill realtor with over 20 years of experience buying and selling real estate.

Chapel Hill Realtor says welcome Chancellor-Elect Thorp

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Exciting news coming out of Carolina last week as the Chancellor’s Search Committee chose one of their own as the tenth Chancellor of the University.   Holden Thorp is a wonderful choice - brilliant educator and leader and as I can attest, a great friend and family man.

There are a lot of important issues that the University will wrestle with in the coming years - Carolina North at the top of the list.   Looks like the University is in great hands.  Good news for Chapel Hill real estate!  Call Reg Morgan if you have questions about future University development or Chapel Hill real estate sales.

Chapel Hill Realtor: Congratulations Graduates!

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

This is a big weekend in Chapel Hill — it is graduation time again and you can see them already lining up in their blue robes at the Old Well for their family photos.  This weekend will see a huge influx of guests to our town - welcome!

Check out the UNC website for more information about Commencement at Kenan Stadium or the PhD Hooding Ceremony at Memorial Hall.

And, of course, there is always that other little school down the road that will also have a graduation this weekend!  We can’t forget to wish our friends a Duke a wonderful day as well.

If you need information about Chapel Hill real estate - call Reg Morgan.  Many of my clients are relocations from other states and towns.  Often there is a connection to Chapel Hill that has pulled them back.  I certainly understand that and would love to talk to you about the Southern Part of Heaven!

Chapel Hill Real Estate: Off and Running

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

There is a lot of doom and gloom in the market these days - I can barely stand to watch CNBC for more then a minute.   But here in Chapel Hill our real estate market is coming back.  A late start to the Spring market has now given us a busy April.  It’s not too late for you to think about a move this Spring or Summer.  We expect relocation business from the Northeast to pick up as well and then we’ll be full steam ahead.

But one question still nags at me….will Tyler turn pro?  Please stay Psycho T!

Chapel Hill Realtor Looks at Carolina North

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Plans are moving along for one of the biggest real estate events in our town in decades - the University’s new expansion at Carolina North.  Already the University has done alot of work on the trails around this property to help runners, walkers and hikers.  It is a great place to explore during this nice weather we are having.

But the biggest news is that plans are moving forward for the first building in this area - the Innovation Center.  Take a look at the site plan here.   Check back with me for more news, and you can also stay up on this by checking the Carolina North website off the UNC homepage.

Chapel Hill Realtor Cheers for the Heels

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Well, town has really cleared out following UNC’s winter commencement on Sunday.  This is one of my favorite times - the weather in Carolina, while cold for us, is still so much better then the rest of the country!  How lucky we are with our wonderfully mild climate.

As we look towards the holiday, we are planning great activities for that quiet week between Christmas and New Year’s.  The boys love Kidzu, The NC Museum of Life and Science - and of course, the Morehead Planetarium.  But my wife will insist that we take in the impressionist show at the NC Museum of Art.  We’ll all plan to visit Waraji, a great sushi restaurant in Raleigh on Duraleigh Road

And of course, we’ll ring in the New Year - or at least have a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner at Watts Grocery.  Amy Tornquist’s new Durham restaurant is always a favorite and the great buzz on that place just keeps growing!

May you have a wonderful, safe holiday.  And of course, if you are thinking about Chapel Hill real estate, call me, Reg Morgan, your Chapel Hill realtor.

Drought in North Carolina

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Finally, some rain in the Triangle.  We’ve been struggling with a drought here all summer and tonight we’re getting a nice soaking.  Should end just in time for tomorrow’s game against UVA at Kenan Stadium.

Monday, June 11th, 2007

We’ve always known that Chapel Hill is a great place to live and work — but could we have the winner of the College World Series right here in town?  We’ll know soon.   The UNC Chapel Hill Tar Heels beat the South Carolina Gamecocks last night at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill.  They’ll go out to Omaha for the College World Series that starts on June 15th, when they take on Mississippi Bulldogs.

This could be the year - stay tuned and go heels! If you are looking for a Chapel Hill realtor, call Reg Morgan.
