Move-in Weekend

Friday, August 19th, 2011

The students are back!  The upper classmen have already arrived and now the freshmen have begun to trickle in.  Love seeing the big SUVs loaded up with belongings pulling into town.  Traffic is crazy so be careful this weekend.

Welcome Class of 2015!

Tar Heels - Grateful for a Wonderful Season

Monday, March 28th, 2011

What a great run this basketball team had.  An outstanding group of young people that really came together and did more then we ever dreamed they would back in November/December.  My family loved watching the games, but now we’re ready for the warm weather to come back and bring on the Spring.Spring time means the busiest market and you can see that the demand is increasing for buyers and sellers.  Call Reg Morgan to discuss this ‘new normal’ market.  Find out what over 20 years of experience means when you are buying or selling real estate in the Triangle.

UNC is Hiring Again!

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

Great news out of the College of Arts and Sciences here in Chapel Hill.  The freeze is off!  The college will be hiring 29 professors - 26 tenure-track faculty and 3 full-time, contracted lecturers.  This is great news for the University and a good reflection on the local economy.  These hirings reflect previous positions becoming ‘unfrozen’ as well as a response to the planned enrollment growth at the University.

As the song says, we’re feeling stronger everyday!   Call Reg Morgan if you are interested in relocating to Chapel Hill or just want to pursue a local move.

UNC Commencement - A Little Late

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Under the category of better late then never….I have to post the video of Archbishop Tutu’s commencement address at UNC-Chapel Hill.  Almost 30,000 guests were in attendance at Kenan Stadium and it was well worth the trip!  The Archbishop gave what many acknowledged to be the best speech made at a Chapel Hill commencement in a long time.  Take a moment to watch the video and enjoy!

Chapel Hill Real Estate Takes a Page from Tyler’s Playbook

Monday, March 9th, 2009

March madness is upon us!  Could it get any better - we beat Duke twice this year, won the ACC regular season championship and we are the first season for this weekend’s tournament.  Well, yes, it could get better!  The real estate market which has been so quiet you could hear a pin drop - is coming back.  The Spring market is starting to show it’s happy face!   And while it is a far cry from the go-go years, since our area did not really experience that out of control bubble, we are doing better then most.

So if you want to buy a home - now’s the time to start looking.  The anxiety in the market has led to some amazing deals.  I see amazing price reductions every day.  And if you already live in our area, and want or need to get out of your present home.  Let’s talk!  With the correct marketing and pricing, you can still get a good deal and sell your home this season.

Call Reg Morgan to discuss the current Chapel Hil real estate market.   Call Tyler to talk about the ACC tournament!!!

And, here’s a link to the senior speeches at yesterday’s Duke game.   Scroll ahead and listen to Danny Greene and Tyler Hansbrough.

Chancellor Cancels Airport Plan

Friday, January 9th, 2009

UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor Holden Thorp held a press conference this morning to announce that the University would not be pursuing an airport in Orange County.  This was a great relief to members of the White Cross and rural Orange County community.  The doctors from AHEC have agreed to move operations to RDU once the Horace Williams airport is closed down and Carolina North construction begins in earnest.

Carolina Football - Good for Chapel Hill Real Estate?

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

This might be a reach, but I think the Tar Heels success on the football field is going to translate into an upswing for our local real estate market.  Yes, it is slow right now, but think about it, if Butch Davis and his crew can possibly win their division, then our market can bounce back!  Call Reg Morgan, your Chapel Hill realtor for more information on our market.  We have been surprisingly resilient given the national news, but still not up to our usual strength.

Go Heels, look for a big win against Maryland this weekend in College Park and don’t forget to cheer them on at Kenan Stadium against State on November 22nd, kick off is at noon.
