Kitts Creek in Wake County

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

There is a great new neighborhood in Morrisville, North Carolina - Kitts Creek.  Morrisville is a great town in Wake County.  The current inventory includes cottages from $281,000-$317,500; village homes from $369,000 - $462,000; and grand boulevard homes from $570,000-$584,000.  Soon to come are town homes and additional traditional homes.   The Town Square Recreation Complex includes a pool, community center, cabanas, playground and more!

This neighborhood is a great fit for families who are relocating to work at the new Fidelity offices that are soon to be built in Research Triangle Park.  If you are considering a relocation to the Triangle, call Reg Morgan.  With over 20 years experience as a realtor, and the designation of Certified Relocation Professional (CRP), Reg can help make your move a successful one!

Monet Exhibit in Raleigh

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

More exciting arts news in the Triangle.  The North Carolina Museum of Art is hosting the Monet in Normandy exhibit this Fall.   The exhibit kicked off with a beautiful gala evening on Saturday, October 14.  Over 900 guests viewed the exhibit and were served a wonderful meal in the gala tent on the grounds of the Museum.   As usual, flowers by Steve Taras of Watered Garden were one of the highlights of the event.

The Monet exhibit will be here through January 14, 2007.  We are members of of the Museum and plan to visit the exhibit as much as possible.  You can join too and support the great programs and exhibits of the Museum.  Join online or book tickets at their website, which makes it easy to plan your visit.

This Saturday, November 11th at 11:30am, the Museum will host a tour of it’s French Collection — the permanent collection of French paintings and sculpture.  A great complement to the Monet exhibition.   Don’t forget to have lunch or dinner in the Blue Ridge Restaurant!

Raleigh is a great place to live - if you are thinking of relocating to the Triangle, we should take a look at some of the great subdivisions in North Raleigh.  Brier Creek, Stonemoor and Bedford are some of my current favorites.

Call Reg Morgan to talk about the Raleigh real estate market and some of the great events taking place in the Triangle.

Wake County School News: Major Growth Issues

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

The News and Observer had an interesting article yesterday highlighting the tremendous growth in Wake County.   This year, schools in Wake enrolled an additional 7,566 students - a record.  The school district is growing every year - and now stands at 22nd nationally with 128,070 students.  Compared to that enormous growth, Johnston County gained 1,568 students, Durham, 262, Chapel Hill - Carrboro, 179 and Orange County, 122.

Much of this growth is driven by the great affordability of our housing market.  The Triangle’s median home price is $162,600, while the national number stands at $167,500.

The article quotes the Wake school district’s demographer, who says that, “the biggest concentrations of growth this year occurred in two areas.   One runs from Brier Creek in northwest Raleigh down into Apex and forms a “half-moon” ending in Garner.  The other runs from Wake Forest through northeast Raleigh, Knightdale and southeast Raleigh.”

The school district is addressing this issue first with plans to convert 19 elementary schools and 3 middle schools to a year-round format next year.  They have also put a school construction bond on the ballot on November 7.  The $970 million school construction bond would go towards payments for 17 new schools and the land costs for 13 more.

Wake County Schools Go Year Round

Tuesday, September 5th, 2006

Wake County School Board voted 8-1 to convert 19 elementary schools to a year-round calendar.   Wake County is expecting 5,000 additional students next year, and conversion to a year-round plan is expected to help schools manage the influx.   This is a controversial plan - heated arguments have gone on for months as the board has haggled over a decision.  The board will vote on September 19th on whether they will also convert 6 middle schools.

As a realtor in Wake County, it’s important for me to know about the latest news for schools here in Raleigh, Apex and Cary.  If you are interested in buying or selling a home in Raleigh, Cary or Apex — anywhere in Wake County — call Reg Morgan.  As a realtor with over 20 years of experience, I can guide you through your next real estate transaction.
