July 4th - Don’t forget the fireworks in Chapel Hill!

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

Don’t forget the great fireworks at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill.   Gates 5 and 6 open to the public at 6:30pm and there is music starting at 7pm, up until the fireworks at 9:30pm.

I have some wonderful clients coming in from New York this weekend to look at houses in Chapel Hill.  We’ll try to make time for some of the Fourth of July festivities too.   If you are thinking of relocating to Chapel Hill, contact me, Reg Morgan.  I relocated years ago from Fairfield County in Connecticut.   With over 20 years of experience as a realtor, I know the important issues that face you when you make such a momentous move.   You need information about Chapel Hill schools, local neighborhoods and even, the best local fireworks show!

July 4th Weekend in Carrboro

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

We are looking forward to a great weekend in Carrboro.  As always, there is the Farmers Market on Saturday.  Then it’s the annual July 4th event on the Town Commons.   Balloon sculpture artists, roaming magicians, face painters and lots of games and food.   Musical performances throughout the afternoon.  As a Carrboro realtor, I need to know more then just home sales in Carrboro.  It’s all about our neighbors and the great things to do here.

Cary, NC Home Sales

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

Looks like the Cary real estate market is full speed ahead.   Numbers through May 2006 look extremely strong - 1,941 homes sold in Wake County compared with 1,800 in the same period last year.   Cary has great schools, beautiful homes on tree lined streets and lovely neighborhoods.

Contact me if you are buying or selling your Cary home.   If you are selling, I’ll prepare a detailed comparative marketing analysis (CMA) to determine your home’s best value.  If you are looking to buy a home or relocate to Cary, I’ll take you through the process start to finish.  Finding the best neighborhood, the top Cary school and the special home for my new neighbors is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

Durham NC Home Sales

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

Good news on the Durham real estate market.  Numbers from the Durham MLS listings reflect a strong real estate market.   In spite of the press attention on the Duke Lacrosse scandal and controversy over the DA’s election, homes in Durham are showing great value.  The average sales price for homes in Durham County in the first five months of this year was $198,590, and the median price was $170,000.

Beautiful neighborhoods like Old Hope Valley and Croasdaile Farm have wonderful luxury homes.   Woodcroft, Woodlake and Hope Valley are classic neighborhoods to raise your family.

Contact me if you are buying or selling your Durham home.   If you are selling, I’ll prepare a detailed comparative marketing analysis to determine your home’s best value.  If you are looking to buy a home or relocate to Durham, I’ll take you through the process start to finish.  Finding the best neighborhood, the top Durham school and the special home for my new neighbors is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

Meadowmont in Chapel Hill

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

Meadowmont is a great area in Chapel Hill.   There are a variety of residences - from luxury homes to town homes and condos — really something for everyone here.  A walk to shops, the UNC Wellness Center and the Meadowmont Club, with the best pool slide in Chapel Hill.  (I guess I’m partial, since my son likes it so much!).

Meadowmont has a great summer series of outdoor concerts planned for this Summer - stop by Lickety Split for a cone and then take a seat!

We love the Meadowmont community - and as a Chapel Hill Realtor, I can show you around many of our local Chapel Hill, Carrboro or Durham neighborhoods.  Take a look at the Chapel Hill MLS listings and contact me if you’d like to talk about buying or selling in Chapel Hill.

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

What’s going on down here in Carolina?   First, we get our big wins in hockey — the Stanley Cup goes to the ‘canes in seven games.   Now we’ve got the Tar Heels in the final round of the College World Series!   It’s great to be a Tar Heel!

Restoring the Stone Walls of Chapel Hill

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

Chapel Hill is one of America’s most beautiful towns.   One of our favorite things are the remarkable stone walls that line the streets around the University and the historic districts.

UNC-Chapel Hill now has a project underway to restore these walls on Raleigh and East Franklin Streets.  Over the years the walls have shifted and were in need of repair.  I understand that in the rebuilding they will use stones from the existing walls whenever possible.    Should be all set in time for the start of classes in August.

Real Estate in Chapel Hill

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

One of the most important parts of your real estate transaction is the home inspection - your deal is not a deal until your inspection goes through and all parties agree to any necessary adjustments or repairs.   Yesterday I was with my seller all the way through their final inspection — in the crawl space, up the ladder, just what it takes to work the deal to its fruition.

I’ve learned in my 20 years of experience as a Chapel Hill realtor that your home sale takes more then just a listing and a flyer — call me or visit my website to view all the Chapel Hill MLS listings.
