Southern Village and Meadowmont Welcome Spring!

Monday, February 26th, 2007

Now that the weather is turning warmer, it’s nice to get in those morning runs and think about the possibility of Spring!  I’ve had a number of clients coming from parts north recently and this is a great time for them to visit Chapel Hill.  Our daffodils are out in full bloom.

The Southern Village and Meadowmont neighborhoods are always favorites because of their mix of beautiful homes in a variety of price ranges, condos, town homes and fantastic stores and restaurants.   Both locations offer wonderful walking trails - and these only get better as the weather improves.

And for families with younger children, you can’t beat the option of having an elementary school right in your neighborhood.  Southern Village has Scroggs and Meadowmont has Rashkis - both award winning schools.

If you are thinking of a move to Chapel Hill, call Reg Morgan.  Let’s talk about Meadowmont or Southern Village, or one of the many other great neighborhoods that make up our wonderful town.

Congratulations Carolina First Campaign

Monday, February 26th, 2007

Lots to celebrate in Chapel Hill this week as the landmark Carolina First campaign passed the $2billion dollar mark.  And they did it in style — announcing a spectacular gift to the School of Public Health from Dennis and Joan Gillings.    This campaign has done so much for the University — and our town, that we are happy to join in the celebration and pass along our kudos too!

Thanks to UNC-Chapel Hill for all you do for us!

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Fearrington Village is a wonderful area in Chatham County.   There are some wonderful homes and great Chatham County real estate opportunities.

One of our favorite annual events is coming up soon - the Fearrington Folk Art Show.  It is the annual showcase of the best in folk art from around the country.  There will be music and there is always good food from the many restaurants down there.  Stop into one of the best bookstores around, McIntyre’s and browse for a bit.

Talk to Reg Morgan about Chatham County real estate - there are beautiful homes and great values here in this easily accessible area.

Triangle Area of North Carolina: Local Growth

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization  (DCHC MPO) which plans and administers the state and federal transportation projects in our region, has drafted population and employment forecasts through the year 2035.  A transportation modeling process will use a final version of the Socioeconomic Data (SE Data) to help determine which transportation projects will be included in the region’s 2035 Long Range Transportation Plan.  We are all encouraged to review and comment on the data, especially the areas that we are directly familiar with.

The website outlines many ways to participate including public workshops, hearings and public comments.  Take a look at the information and add your thoughts to this important process.
