Carolina North Update
Monday, June 25th, 2007The plans for Carolina North are starting to take shape. A series of community meetings ended last week, with more concrete information from the University about the plans taking shape there. After the last meeting a final document was posted to the website that, while lengthy, contains some valuable information on plans that are taking shape.
Many issues are still up in the air — pardon the pun! The Horace Williams airport, which the University’s Board of Trustees would like to close, is still facing opposition and that plan has still not yet been confirmed. The state legislature is still in discussions and hearings on this. Among the issues are the future of AHEC and the concerns of area pilots.
