Back to Chapel Hill Schools

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

This is always my favorite blog of the year!  The UNC students are back - and that is always a shock to our parking lots and restaurants!   But more important - are kids are back in the great Chapel Hill schools!   I am continuously amazed at the wonderful job our teachers and administrators do - to say nothing of those bus drivers!  Our new bus driver showed up early this morning just to meet each of the kids on his new rout!

Welcome back students!

Hot Numbers for Housing

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Great numbers out this morning on housing sales in July.  You may have seen this in your own neighborhoods too — we had three homes sell in a week here in Kent Woodlands.  This is a great sign for our market, and while the August doldrums will likely show a slower number in September, we’ll be looking for another bump in September.

The 7.2 percent national increase which is even greater then the jump that was forecast.   This was the biggest jump since August 2007.  On the downside, prices fell considerably and were down approximately 15% nationally,

Take a look at the stock markets today and you can see how much they like this!

Deutsche Bank Moves Into the Triangle

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Good news for IT professionals looking to relocate to the triangle.   Deutsche Bank is bringing up to 300 jobs to Cary over the next five years.  With the establishment of a new subsidiary, DB Global Technology, the company hopes to create a place where they can create and develop software that will be used at their subsidiaries around the world.

While the company looked at a variety of locations, in the end they determined that our area was the most advantageous.  “The Research Triangle area offers an ideal talent pool of highly skilled professionals and graduates,” spokesman Scott Helfman said.    Those interested in applying should contact, northcarolina.recruiting@db.com.

Thinking of relocating to the Triangle? Then contact Reg Morgan, a realtor who holds the CRP designation - Certified Relocation Professional.  A CRP knows how to make your move a success.

Carrboro is Back: 300 East Main

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Great news for Carrboro — the improvement in the credit markets has finally reached the 300 East Main project.  The developer Laura Van Sant announced that she has secured the financing necessary to move forward with the 5 story development that will include a hotel and retail center.

Their comments are very positive about securing tenants as our markets improve.  Carrboro is ready for a development like this and it is about time we have a hotel where visitors can stay and really enjoy Carrboro from this unique perspective.

Good going Main Street Properties, we look forward to seeing some progress.
